Security for the Worldwide Medical Trust

What is the Worldwide Medical Trust?

The Worldwide Medical Trust (WMT) is a legal entity located in the State of Mississippi. WMT was created to provide top quality medical coverage for persons who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States of America. The coverage provided by the Trust will pay for hospital stays and covered expenses anywhere in the world including the insured's country of residence or in the United States.

Who provides the insurance backing for the Worldwide Medical Trust?

The Worldwide Medical Trust is underwritten by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's. The Lloyd's market, or Lloyd's of London as some people still call it, is a unique insurance provider located in London, England. It has a history spanning over 300 years. Lloyd's has 139 separate underwriting syndicates, covering all classes of business in over 60 territories worldwide. Choosing to place business at Lloyd's ensures access to the variety and wealth of experience necessary to provide truly innovative solutions to individual insurance requirements.

The level of risk the insureds are looking to transfer, means that they need a carrier who has the size to compete. Lloyd's offers the benefits of a subscription market and the backing of the total resources of 15.32 billion pounds sterling or US $24.51 billion dollars at $1.60 to the pound exchange rate.

As a broker or an insured, the security and capital adequacy of an insurer is of supreme importance. All policies issued by any Lloyd's syndicate have been endorsed by the top insurance rating agencies. In 1999, Lloyd's security was further strengthened through a five year agreement to insure the Lloyd's Central Fund. This is a huge vote of confidence by six of the world's top insurers to rebuild the strength of Lloyd's. The insurance agreement was also welcomed by two major agencies; Standard and Poors confirmed its previous financial strength rating of "A+" while A.M. Best affirmed it's "A" (excellent) rating.

Who is the Trustee of the Worldwide Medical Trust?

The Trustee of the Worldwide Medical Trust is Trustmark National Bank located in Jackson, Mississippi. Trustmark National Bank owned by the Trustmark Corporation with $6.4 billion in assets, is the largest bank holding company in Mississippi. Trustmark National Bank was founded on November 14, 1889, as the First National Bank of Jackson, Mississippi. The bank assumed its present name on September 4, 1985. Trustmark National Bank is not only the Trustee of the WMT, but it is also the depository of the funds of the WMT. Trustmark National Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation of the United States (FDIC).

Who is the Administrator of the Worldwide Medical Trust?

The Administrator of the Worldwide Medical Trust is MorganWhite Administrators International, Inc., located in Jackson, Mississippi. MorganWhite Administrators International also has offices in Miami, Florida and Caracas, Venezuela. In 1998, MWAII, after a careful examination and recommendation by a Lloyd's broker, was approved to be tribunalized by Lloyd's. As a result of this approval MWAII has entered into a contract with certain underwriters at Lloyd's which grants MWAII the authority to bind Lloyd's as security on policies it issues that meet the criteria of the underwriting agreements with Lloyds. This tribunalization is a great honor for MorganWhite Administrators International and should give the clients of the Worldwide Medical Trust confidence that their medical plan is being administered in a professional and proper manner. Another feature of this tribunalization requires that MWAII must be reviewed every 12 months to continue to keep its status with Lloyd's.

Who has reviewed the Plan of Operations of the Worldwide Medical Trust?

The Plan of Operations of the Worldwide Medical Trust has been submitted to and reviewed by the Insurance Department of the State of Mississippi, Legal Counsel of the Worldwide Medical Trust, and Legal Counsel of Lloyd's.
